Exchange Point Connectivity Cross-Matrix

This spreadsheet should be viewed as nothing more than one person's attempt to collect data from a variety of sources and present it in one place. This is not a qualitative ranking of providers. This is not a listing of which providers "peer" with other providers.

Methodology: I took the in-addr records for each exchange point, and pinged the resulting addresses. If a router happened to be down, I missed that connection. The PVC nature of the ATM NAPs make independent testing very difficult. "OK" means an ICMP Echo Request/Echo Response worked for at least one provider router at the exchange point. "UNK" means I couldn't ping the address (i.e. ICMP disabled, PVC not built, no route between DRA and the exchange network, or router down or not there). A "." means no in-addr record found.

The names are based on the in-addr records of the addresses. ITLD's were truncated after two levels, Other TLD's were truncated after three levels. Providers change names, merge with other providers, or use different names in different places; so I may list the same provider under two different names or merged two providers under the name name. The AS number is from either the TXT record for the address, or my guess of the providers AS number using traceroute to www.provider-name.net.

If you don't like your name, update your in-addr records. I got tired of trying to keep up with name changes and mergers.

This spreadsheet covers the following exchange points, and networks only. Some exchanges, have more than one network attached.

• Does the TXT record list your current AS number? No, contact the address coordinator for the exchange point.
• Can you PING 192.65.218.23 from your router interface? One ping only please, no flooding. I will repeat the ping test in a few days, so temporary problems should clear up.
